Mouse Metabolism Core Training

Instruments within the Diabetes Center Metabolic Core include a set of 12 metabolic chambers (Oxymax Lab Animal Monitoring System or CLAMS), a DEXA and an EchoMRI device. DEXA and EchoMRI are available for use, after training by any UCSF and, pending availability, non-UCSF laboratories.

The CLAMS is not operated by Core users. However, during the 4-day run the manager will assist any user with special requests (for example injections of drugs), starting at 7am and ending at 7pm. Any special request performed, either outside the daily schedule or during the daily schedule without the user being present, will be charged a Direct Assistance fee (charged per 30min block).
