Alpha Lipoic Acid and Insulin Resistance – Non-Diabetes

Who can sign up for this study? Volunteers must be between 20 and 60 years old and may not be diagnosed with diabetes.

What is this study about? Researchers wish to see if the antioxidant Alpha Lipoic Acid (LA) will improve insulin sensitivity in healthy, non diabetic volunteers.

What will happen in this study? This study lasts 6 weeks and includes 4 study visits. Volunteers will undergo two screening visits to measure insulin resistance and will then will take Alpha Lipoic Acid for 3 weeks. After taking Alpha Lipoic Acid the insulin resistance test will be repeated.

How long will this study last? About six weeks.

Reimbursement: You will receive $375 for your time and effort.
