A list of studies that are currently recruiting is provided below for those who may be interested in volunteering in clinical studies. The goal of the intervention studies is to preserve insulin secretion in people recently diagnosed with the disease." In the near future, we are planning to launch Diabetes Prevention Trials to determine whether new therapies can delay, or prevent, the onset of type 1 diabetes in "at risk" individuals. If you are considering volunteering for a clinical trial, there are many things to think about. Understanding the basics of clinical trials and the process can help you make a more informed decision. The Diabetes Center recommends reading this short introduction to clinical trials before you decide to volunteer. The document also contains links to additional information and other online clinical trials information.
